Is anyone else annoyed by this on the Apple website? Your
old iPad. I swear, the first time I actually saw someone with one was only last summer.
Let's be real-- I still have my circa 2005 iPod. And I use it ALLLL the time.
I think its great to donate to schools. I respect Teach for America. But the "old" factor, and the "spend your money on the newest and shiniest" instead of making things work or making due.
So not a fan.
Less is more.
For example.

I also have a 2005-2006 ish ipod. I hate that apple products are generally (in my experience) more durable and superior to others, because I actually really hate apple, mostly because of this "let's roll out a new version every 4 months so people have to buy buy buy!!" I couldn't believe there was already an ipad 2. How about, spend a little more R&D money, make the product you release THE BEST with the technology you currently have, and wait a couple years to have a new product with far superior features instead of just one or two kind of cool new things? No wonder people in america are broke. My husband is a dentist and we don't even have an ipad UNO, because guess what, I have a old laptop that does exactly the same job. Haha.
I have a little soapbox about this, in case you couldn't tell.
I agree that having to always have the newest and shiniest is dumb. But at least Apple knows their audience--there are TONS of early adapters who always jump on the bandwagon whenever something new is released, so there are bound to be old iPads that people don't need, and hopefully some will give them to a good cause. Both my iPod and my Shuffle are still going strong after 5+ years!
