pretty

i want to be in a field of this.
the color makes me happy.
it calms.
makes me think of windows down driving
and smiles.

spring

almost here.
the birds are singing
and the trees are showing buds
and wick, as Dickon would say
or sing, depending on your fancy.

good intentions

the bowl was sitting on the table.
waiting to be filled with mushrooms.
instead it got broken.
oh well.
i've only had it since college.
it made me feel like a good cook, having lil white bowls for my prep work.
i'll live. its a first world problem for sure.

fascinator

i'm not good at headpieces. wearing them, that is. but i'm beyond marginally pleased with this image of one.

hurrah for summer!

so excited to make jam. We went berry picking on our trip back in may. i can't wait for my regular berry guys to be at the farmer's market. their stuff is the best.

it is what it is, but it looks like what it isn't

cutting up things to make vegetarian chili.
i was distracted and did not cut down the middle.
not even close.
but this greeted me.
this seashell cut of an onion.

does that happen to you? the beautiful design of the food we eat?
nature at its best? it happens to me. often.

i have this thing

with ambient light. I only photograph it super yellow. and it always looks kinda creepy. i'm going for warm and inviting, of course. but nope. just creepy is what i get. i did photograph these lamps before and it was nicer.

inspired

this is our life right now.
bowls of varying size and curves.
ceramic and plastic.
shiny sun and reflected gold thread on my finally procured table cloth.
i love these colors.
i'm grateful they struck me as beautiful all together while i was putting away the dishes.
i'm glad it was at the time of day that i could take this picture that say so much about our life.
Its by no means a photograph, or a piece of art. but its a document that says a lot about us.

i like it.

sometimes

symmetrical architecture stops me in my tracks.
