Emily

Photobucket

I haven't written about this project on the blog at all, but I am photographing women who nurse past the 12 months mark. I think it is important for women to see that they are not alone, and there there are valuable experiences for yourself and your child by choosing to continue nursing and not follow societal norms to wean immediately at 12 months. Each woman has a statement, and I will be publishing these first in magazine form to distribute. Their words are uplifting.

You can see more of this project HERE.

Neat project! Why is it that our culture makes it seem like it should be one and done? You go girl!

What a fantastic idea. I had no idea that there were lots of women who breastfed after one. My daughter is currently 22months and we are still breastfeeding. What a joy and comfort it is for both of us. Thank you for celebrating motherhood this way.
